LIFE FoodPrint WEBSITE PUBLIC DISCUSSION – Ending food waste
Awareness campaign on food waste prevention and management among consumers and the catering and tourism sector.
Raising awareness to reduce food waste and adopting a new environmental approach in Cyprus is at the heart of the innovative LIFE FoodPrint project.
The project will be presented at a press conference to be held online due to the pandemic measures. The press conference will take place on Thursday, 28/1/2021 at 11:00 via the ZOOM platform at the link:

The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Costas Kadis, in his address will refer to the policies and objectives set by Cyprus to tackle food waste(?).
The project will be followed by a presentation of the project by the Coordinator, Mr. Antonis Karatzias – Director of the Development and Innovation Department of the DIAS complex.
The findings of the first pan-Cypriot survey on food waste will be presented by the CEO of Parpounas Sustainability Consultants Ltd, Mr. Kyriakos Parpounas.
The press conference will be moderated by journalist Kyriakos Pierides – Opinion and Action, partner in the project.
Sustainable consumption and waste management is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century and involves the whole spectrum of society, from households to professionals in the hospitality and catering sector.The “LIFE – FOODPRINT” project focuses on the environmental problem of food waste. In Cyprus, food waste is a major challenge directly linked to the cultivation of a new mindset aimed at raising awareness of the environmental burden of organic waste and taking action to reduce food waste.
