OEB organised a series of educational seminars for professionals and executives of the Hospitality, Catering and Food Service (HoReCa) sector.

The seminars were held during the summer and are part of the activities of the Life FoodPrint campaign to reduce food waste co-funded by the European Commission through the LIFE programme.

The training seminars were organised by OEB in cooperation with the Cyprus Energy Office. They aim to raise awareness, provide the necessary knowledge and develop the required skills and competences of business staff for the reduction and rational management of food waste.

The ultimate goal is to improve the way food is managed by adopting good, environmentally friendly practices that also lead to the reduction of business costs.

The training programme is designed to provide the theoretical knowledge on food waste and to promote the cultivation of a sustainability mindset through an environmentally responsible attitude among professionals in the sector. Participants in the training courses are equipped to become change agents for the transition to a more sustainable food value chain.

The 4-hour programme is aimed at managers and professionals in the Hospitality, Catering and Foodservice sector. No prior knowledge in the subject matter of the programme is required from participants.
