An online meeting was held yesterday, 03/12/2020, together with the LIFE-Food.Waste.StandUp Project Manager Mr. Maurizzio Notarfonso to exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences on the issue of organic waste management in the context of action for networking, leveraging synergies and sharing experiences with other relevant Life projects.

During the meeting, a presentation of the two projects was given, focusing on the objectives, pillars and management of organic waste. In particular, special mention was made of the LIFE-Food.Waste.StandUp project which is at a more advanced stage of implementation. The actions taken regarding practices that the public can develop to reduce food waste, actions by national organisations in Italy with a similar objective and the memoranda of understanding signed with local authorities were explained. Also presented were the communication campaign to raise public awareness, initiatives on food bank and sustainable management of food surpluses as well as on food supply chain management.

The presentation of the LIFE FOODprint project covered the planned actions and the initial actions already implemented. Afterwards, views were exchanged and in particular clarifications were given on the experiences of the project in Italy. The exchange of views was particularly useful for the future actions of the LIFE FOODprint project. At the same time, mutual interest was also expressed for future cooperation between the two projects.
