Το “FOODPrint” της Κύπρου συναντά το “WASTELess” της Ουγγαρίας – Ανταλλαγή εμπειριών και καλών πρακτικών για την μείωση της σπατάλης τροφίμων
Ideas and suggestions for the actions they implement, the challenges they face and the good practices they apply, were exchanged in an online meeting of two Life + programs focusing on food waste, namely the “FoodPrint” campaign team in Cyprus and the “Wasteless” project team in Hungary.
The meeting took place online on Friday, October 22, 2021, and provided a unique opportunity to the participants to share the aims and results of their respective projects, identify common challenges and to exchange useful information and training material.
The FoodPrint program – LIFE19 GIE / CY / 001166, has been implemented in Cyprus for a year now, while the WASTELess LIFE15 GIE / HU / 001048, has been implemented in the period 2016-2020.
The presentation of the WASTELess project was made by Dr. Kasza Gyula of the Hungary Food Chain Safety Office. On behalf of the FoodPrint, the program was presented by Anna Eugeniou, of DIAS as well as the other partners who presented their actions, namely Marios Papageorgiou of OEB, Kyriakos Parpounas of Parpounas Consultants and Natasa Ioannou of Friends of the Earth – Cyprus.
Particular emphasis was placed on the effort to change consumer behavior, education and the engagement and commitment of stakeholders in society, such as the businesses and the local authorities.
The online meeting was organized by Opinion and Action, partner of the FoodPrint project and was coordinated by journalist Kyriakos Pieridis.
The contributors of the 2 Life+ programs agreed to stay in touch to share their experiences and good practices.
